answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Food

Breakfast will be served in camp for the first 15 minutes. If you come later than that please make sure that your child has had their breakfast at home. Snacks may be brought from home.

Lunch is provided by camp. A weekly menu will be posted at the beginning of each week. Please discuss the menu with your child and if they don’t like it or have allergies to specific foods, please send them their own sack lunch. If your child has any special diets or kashrus standards, please let us know. Any food sent in must be Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel.

Water

It is highly recommended to send a labeled water bottle to camp each day.  It can be a permanent one or disposable.  Water coolers and water fountains are always available for refilling as often as necessary.

Sunscreen

Please apply sunscreen to your child each morning before camp. You may send sunscreen with your camper to reapply after water activities.

Lost and Found

All items such as bathing suits, towels, hats etc. must be labeled in order to keep things organized and prevent losses from occurring. If items are labeled, they can be returned to their owner.

Dress Code

On non-trip days there is no specific dress code. On trip days, a camp t-shirt must be worn. Order your camp shirts here.

For girls, please dress in a tznius manner. Knee socks or tights are a must each day. Shoes and sneakers are recommended over sandals and slippers. We do lots of running around, sports, climbing etc. and it isn’t safe if your child’s footwear aren't properly secured.

Communication

An email is sent before each week featuring the schedule, lunch menu and other pertinent information.

Timely reminders, schedule changes and photos will be posted on the CGI WhatsApp. Click here to join the CGI WhatsApp group.

Parking Pass

In order to park in the Wilkes Barre parking lot, you must have a parking pass clearly displayed in your car. Please stop by the front office for a pass.

Electronics and Money

Electronics of any kind are not permitted in camp. Please do not send money to camp unless specifically requested.

Calendar

Copies of the camp calendar are available in the front office. They will be emailed and posted on the camp WhatsApp as well.

Childcare Subsidies

If your child was not in Cheder this year and you have applied for childcare subsidies, it is your responsibility to make sure to call the Childcare Office and enroll your child with the start date of June 25, 2026 (or whenever he/she is starting camp).
